A leading waste management and environmental services group in Oxfordshire has announced record recycling rates across its services for a fourth successive year.
The M&M Group diverted more than 98 per cent of materials its team handled in 2025 from landfill across its waste collection and demolition operations.
Based in Witney, the Group encompasses skip hire and recycling specialists M&M Waste Solutions, demolition and environmental services contractor Maylarch and M&M Zero – the UK’s first zero-emission waste collection service.
Maylarch diverted 99 per cent of its non-hazardous waste from landfill, while M&M Waste Solutions recycled more than 98 per cent of materials collected from skips used for residential and commercial purposes.
The figures are up year-on-year compared to the percentage of waste the Group successfully diverted from landfill in 2024, where 29,679 tonnes of waste – the equivalent weight of 2,120 double decker buses – was recycled.
It continues the Group’s strong track record for recycling non-hazardous waste, with projects achieving recycling rates of 95 per cent in 2022 and 97 per cent in 2023.

“Creating a healthier, safer and more sustainable environment for future generations is our top priority,” said Rob.
“Our work is often misunderstood by those who see our vans out on Oxfordshire’s roads either collecting skips or transporting waste from demolition sites our team is working on.
“The assumption is that this waste is irresponsibly buried into landfill, when in reality our entire operation is centred around the process of recycling materials for onward use.
“As individuals, we are continually told to be mindful of what waste can be recycled instead of being thrown into our black bins.
“For our team, separating the black bin waste from items which can be reused is a full-time job and to register record recycling rates for a fourth successive year is a huge achievement which Oxfordshire can be proud of.”
Of all the waste collected by M&M Waste Solutions, 55 per cent of materials were sent onwards for recycling while 43 per cent of waste was successfully converted into electricity.
Waste is shredded before it is fed into an incineration chamber with heat from the combustion process used to generate steam and electricity.
It is one innovation the Group uses to achieve such high rates of recycling.
